Our client, a high-performance outsourcing company to the pharmaceutical industry, was using a traditional Avaya telephone system when the Covid pandemic hit and the first lockdown in March 2020 started. Providing vital services to clients and hospitals alike, phone calls to their offices still needed to be answered promptly and efficiently. Using their Avaya platform, implementing a ‘work from home’ strategy proved to be problematic. This is when we started to talk with them.
As Microsoft 365 users, familiar with Microsoft Teams for internal calls, video and conferencing, we proposed the Microsoft Teams phone system with SIP trunks. Following an initial pilot, the move away from fixed desk phones to a softphone environment with a headset, went smoothly. The transition for users was simple and straight forward.
The company is truly operating ‘business as usual’. Our client’s staff now work safely at home providing a prompt and efficient phone service just like they did when they were office based. The Teams phone platform has made remote working easy.
Our client is also happy in the knowledge that they have a phone service that is flexible enough to deal with whatever hybrid and home working conditions may arise in the future, without affecting their customer service levels in any way.
